I’ve almost stated here that lilac is my absolute favourite flower, but then I remembered that I said the same thing about ranunculus, violets, peonies, and daisies.  I love flowers – let’s leave it at that.  Without the blooms, the lilac bush is rather unremarkable, but once the blooming bunches come to life, it’s heaven on earth.  The cottage A.’s Mom has in Poland is surrounded by lilac bushes, and not once was I lucky enough to be there when lilac was in full bloom.  Not this year either, hopefully, next spring.

Właśnie chciałam orzec, że bez jest moim najbardziej ulubionym kwiatem, ale zaraz przypomniałam sobie, że podobne orzeczenia składałam na rzecz ranunculus, fiołków, piwonii i margaretek. Wystarczy, że powiem – uwielbiam kwiaty. Bez kwiatów, krzak bzu jest raczej mało atrakcyjny. Gdy zaczyna kwitnąć, to robi się tak anielsko. Mama A. ma dom na wsi otoczony bzami. Nigdy dotąd nie udało mi się tam być w czasie, gdy zakwita bez. W tym roku też nie, mam nadzieję na przyszłą wiosnę.
